Based in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, MDW Solicitors is a family-run law firm that cares about our local community. Founded by husband and wife team Debra Williamson and Andrew Stocker, we pride ourselves on delivering a personal legal service that is tailored to your individual situation.

The inspiration behind MDW Solicitors was Debra Williamson's late father, Maurice Douglas Williamson (MDW), who sadly passed away in December 2017. As his legacy, Debra and her husband Andrew decided to create MDW Solicitors, to provide legal services for families but also to give back to the community, supporting local schools and events where possible.

DEBRA WILLIAMSON

Director and Head of Legal Services

​Debra qualified as a solicitor in 1993. After eighteen years of working in a large corporate law firm as Partner/Director, Debra made the decision to set up MDW Solicitors with her husband, Andrew Stocker in June 2019.


Debra has 29 years of experience as a Lawyer and helped set up her previous firm 18 years ago. The firm began only specialising in criminal law, but Debra assisted in its diversification and within a few years it was a large firm dealing in all aspects of law.  Debra assisted in managing the firm which went on to have in excess of 200 employees and 17 offices.

Now at the helm of MDW Solicitors, Debra specialises in private client work and prides herself on delivering a friendly, bespoke service to every individual for Wills, Probate and Lasting Power of Attorney, as well as Criminal cases. This includes drafting Wills, dealing in the administration of estates and drafting Lasting Powers of Attorneys. The firm also specialises in Inheritance Tax planning and Trusts. Debra also specialises in crime and is a criminal duty solicitor. She regularly attends Courts and police stations, representing clients in a wide range of situations including drink driving and speeding.

“When my father Maurice Douglas Williamson (MDW) sadly passed away in December 2017 he was greatly assisted by the Harlington Hospice. I am delighted that, through MDW Solicitors, we will be able to support their work by donating a portion of fee income to the hospice if, upon instruction, a client advises that they came to us via any marketing provided by the hospice. This will help fund the care of other families and loved ones at this very difficult time.”


Keen to support young talent, Debra is a member of the Advisory Panel at Brunel University which enables her to make recommendations to the Head of the Law School in relation to her experience in the legal industry.

ANDREW STOCKER

Director

Andrew's role at MDW comprises of Director, Head of Finance and Business Administration responsibilities.

​

In addition to MDW, Andrew will continue to be a Director at AMS Wealth Management Ltd, a firm of Independent Financial Advisers, regulated by the FCA, specialising in Protection, Savings, Investments, Pensions and Estate and IHT planning. 

 

Andrew has been a qualified financial advisor for 31 years. AMS Wealth Management provides bespoke financial advice to both existing long-established clients and new clients. As well as being a founding director, Andrew is an Independent Financial Planner and the firm’s Compliance Officer.

CREDENTIALS:

Andrew has been providing financial advice since 1991, is a fully qualified adviser, DipFA, MIFS and holder of the IMC.

Debra and Andrew are assisted by a team of Consultants, and Administrators. 

They also have a case management team who supports them together with an accounts team.
